This is the view right outside my laundry room window. I’ve never had a window in a laundry room before, and I’ve certainly never had a view like this from a window in any home I’ve lived in.
A few mornings ago, I was standing there when I noticed a cardinal sitting on one of these branches, facing the window. My first thought was, “I need to grab my camera!” But instead, I just stood there and watched. He stayed for several minutes before flying away, and I haven’t seen him since. I still look for him every morning, though. I like to think maybe he just stopped by to say hello and welcome me to Granbury.
There’s something really special about this place. The slower pace, the trees, the wildlife, the little surprises that seem to find me when I’m not looking for them…I really do love it here. And I’m so thankful God brought us to this little corner of Texas.
